Ever since I got my Asus gtx 970 strix I've had this problem, but I've always thought it's just a driver issue that Nvidia will probably fix. Anyway, now I'm too tired of it and that's why I came here in hope for a solution or help with figuring out what could be wrong.

So the issue is that sometimes when the cursor changes form, it will artifact. The easiest way to recreate the issue is to highlight a picture and drag it, as that causes it to artifact most often out of all situations where it does it, but it can also happen when doing something so simple such as hovering over text. Or any object. Basically any time the mouse changes form. And something even more annoying is that my screen goes black for less than a second sometimes. Some days it happens once or twice, and other days I don't have the problem at all. Very annoying.

Have any of you experienced the same issue? Do you know what could be wrong? I've tried another hdmi-cable but it didn't help. All I cound find when I googled it was an old thread over at the Nvidia forums.

I tried to catch it with a screen recorder, but for some reason it only appears on my screen, I couldn't see the artifacts when I played the video, that's why I had to record it with a regular camera. Watch it in fullscreen, it's pretty hard to see it otherwise. Down below is my video demonstrating the issue, I hope you can see the weird colors around the cursor appearing sometimes, but if not, I've also included a picture I shot by playing the video in slow motion.

I'm fairly certain that's a driver issue. Have you tried DDU'ing the current nVidia driver install and reinstalling latest?

No but it occured before I made a clean installation of Windows 10 too, I was running Windows 7 before.

Sorry, I should've mentioned that.

But just to make sure I'll go ahead and DDU it and reinstall the latest driver right now.

It only occurs with the mouse pointer?

Just deleted the drivers with ddu and installed the latest ones from nvidias website. Still happening. Yeah as far as I've noticed it only occurs with the mouse pointer.
