I need to reinstall windows (obviously) via an windows 10 ISO but where can I get my product key?

You should be able to find everything here:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

Edit: You could upgrade through Windows Update, but I'd do a clean install. Don't connect to the internet until you're done with setup, and double check all of the options as you're setting it up.

download a freeware called ProducKey it will tell you your win 10 product key

That Win10 key is a generic key, so it will not work. Win10 activates via the hardware ID generated by your computer

How do I check that?

right-click My Computer and select Properties

scroll down to the bottom of the screen and find the Product ID.

Product ID should be in the form xxxxx-xxx-xxxxxxx-xxxxx

if the 3 characters in the second group are OEM, then you have an OEM version

After changing mobo, hope that windows it still activated. Not activated, then 2 options, try telephone activation method and hope it goes through. No, then you'll have to reinstall the OS, win7 first and then upgrade to Win10. I heard the newest build lets you use a Win7 or 8/8.1 key to activate, but I don't know if that's true or not.

As per the second reply, there's a chance you might not need to reinstall.

I build an entirely new PC, going from a Z68 Chipset + i5 2500k, to a z170-a and a 6600k. My SSD, along with all my HDD's were simply swapped over.

The OS didn't have a single issue booting up. It did do some interesting stuff when turning on, like Windows knew it was a new mobo and went through some things to adapt, but it appeared to be designed to be okay if you swapped it tinto an entirely different motherboard.

I eventually reinstalled Windows 10 because I wanted a completely fresh OS with my new build, but it did work.

Should I try to swap it in first before reinstalling? How do I know if its messing up?

I would try it, if you're entirely against formatting and reinstalling.

I guess, if it's messing up it will BSOD or not boot, or crash within Windows 10. If none of that happens, it's probably okay. Windows detects the HW and installs the proper chipset and all that as well.
