So I've never done a build from the ground up . my manger give me task to give him specification for 6 PC for the office so i want a good build maybe he will give me increment xD. I have no idea to go for AMD or skylake build. It needs to be within an acceptable budget around 1,000.0$ to 1,200.0 for each. we are consultant engineers company we usually using autocad , revit and 3d max medium usage not heavy .

Any help would be greatly appreciated .

So no gaming at all then?

If you really want to hit under budget with like SSDs or something, you'd want the Xeon 1231v3

firepro card is probably just going to be nice to have for those programs.

yes no gaming , unfortunately i called three store they have no firepro they said we have  Quadro   is it good to go for i7 6700 and lower the price a little ? in this case could you give me a good build .

if not what i can do with this build to lower the price a little like a lower graphics card  .

What country/store?

quadro is fine if your software uses CUDA, but the firepro cards are generally less expensive for similar performance, and they tend to come with more VRAM which is going to be useful for the 3D modeling

the 6700 isn't generally going to be worth it over the Xeon 1231v3 if it's available, the performance difference isn't much compared to the price difference.

If you end up going skylake make sure your Motherboard has USB 3.1, it's the main draw of the platform, I suppose the prices have settled a bit, and for the $100 difference skylake ain't too bad anymore.

first thank you.
could you suggest me a quadro graphics card , i think the xeon is enough for such work no need to spend more money on skylake.

USB 3.1 is probably going to come in handy for much faster file transfer if you guys don't have like a NAS

K2200 quadro, cost a bit more.

https://pcpartpicker.com/part/pny-video-card-vcqk2200pb

if that's not available, go 390, it has 8gbs of VRAM, doesn't have the drivers of a workstation GPU, but the VRAM should be useful for the 3D modeling.

The first one's Xeon runs at 1.6ghz base, it's going to be fairly slow

If you can swap the 950 for the 4100 firepro in the skylake build go for that.

and the Corsair CX power supplies are fairly sub par.

So if there's something from Super Flower, or Seasonic, or XFX maybe, or EVGA, go for one of those PSUs, should be a bit better Gold Rated or higher would also possibly be useful for better efficiency.

What exact card is it? It seems that, the DDR3 would either mean it's old or really low end, I'd stick to the firepro probably, it's openCL adoption should keep software options wider than CUDA

If you scroll down to the overview there's a breakdown chart, granted it's AMD's marketing material, but overall the W4100 would be the card to get, least of which being it's display output options, 4 mini display ports is pretty nice to have.

Presumably there is some sort of central storage, so having super fast storage and hdd should not be required. I would expect a SATA III ssd between 240GB and 500GB would be more than enough. Unless, of course workstations really do need much more storage.

Given reasonably light Revit use I doubt X99 cpu are needed. I would put the resources into more main memory and ssd. A Xeon E3-1241, i7-4790, or i7-6700 or better should be more than enough.

For a Haswell cpu I would look for a reasonably inexpensive motherboard, an H97 or even H81 (presuming compatible BIOS). Skylake has the H110 motherboard. One with 4 memory slots would be a reasonable choice. If the office uses WiFi then consider a mini-ITX motherboard and case. Otherwise I would suggest an mATX motherboard and case.

Check to see if Seasonic OEM psu are available. Depending on gpu selected, something like the SSP-350SE, SSP-350ST, or SSP-350GT or slightly larger would do.

Unless every user will use an optical drive regularly, I would suggest not putting them in workstations. They are usually not needed.
