Hi,

For my ~ 1000$US gaming/ streaming pc, I'll have an i7 5820k with r9 390 and 16 GB of RAM and also a 1 TB HD. I want an SSD, I'm thinking 500 GB? Mostly for my OS, browsing etc. among other programs as I am willing to invest in speed. But I am not very tech savvy when it comes to SSDs, all the SATA, PCi, m.2 and stuff all confuses me. Let's say I just have my os and something like 5 games on my SSD. What size SSD would I need? Any help with choosing an SSD would be greatly helpful.

Thanks!

You can pretty much put a system on a 120 GB one, so if we add 50 GB * 5 for the games, and then some buffer room, I'd agree with your 500 GB idea.

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

for now, get a normal 2.5inch ssd. PCI-E SSD and m.2 SSD are sort of more expensive, though they can be slightly faster, but as a normal user or someone that upgraded from hdd, its leaps and bounds a better experience, being slightly faster wont improve you experience by a whole lot

as for 5 games, what @Ryan_Vickers said is pretty much spot on

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately
