Hello,

My PC has been having a very strange crashing issue for the last few months.

The first intensive game that I launch after I start my computer almost always crashes.  After this first crash, it does not happen again and I am able to relaunch any game that crashed and it runs normally.  The crash is usually a gray or black screen where the game audio is still playing.  This crash does occur when I launch less intensive games like 2D games.

I have looked on the internet and tried a variety of tests, like the Windows Memory Test, and benchmarks but I have found nothing.  Is anyone familiar with this issue?

Thanks.

Games that crash: Rainbow Six Siege, The Division (Betas), Dying Light, Fallout 4, Metal Gear Solid V, and others.

Games that don't crash: Terraria, Prison Architect, Civ 5, and other less-intensive games.

If you have audio it's probably not power, did you try to see if it's a problem w/ all 3d applications or some OC/fan profile you set on your GPU for 3d games?

Tip to those that are new on LTT forum- quote a post so that the person you are quoting gets a notification, otherwise they'll have no idea that you did. You can also use a tag such as @Ryoutarou97 (replace my username with anyone's. You should get a dropdown after you type the "@")to send a notification, but quoting is preferable.

Feel free to PM me about absolutely anything be it tech, math, literature, etc. I'll try my best to help. I'm currently looking for a cheap used build for around $25 to set up as a home server if anyone is selling.

If you are a native speaker please use proper English if you can. Punctuation, capitalization, and spelling are as important to making your message readable as proper night theme formatting is.

My build is fully operational, but won't be posted until after I get a GPU in it and the case arted up.

I have not tested other 3d applications.  I will try that.

I have not setup any overclocking or fan profiles for certain games.

All I've got is try reinstalling the drivers (fully). Sorry to say I'm more of a build planning person and not very well versed in the art of tech support.

Try DDU, to fully wipe drivers. Corrupted filed have been known to remain corrupted even after a driver reinstall, wiping and then reinstalling is the best bet.
