I wanted something light to carry around and something that have a long battery life. My Budget is around 300usd. This would only be used to write emails or documents, viewing photos, internet browsing and watching movies. Might do some light gaming like minecraft to kill time.

It looks like you'd be better off with a Chromebook. Those are dirt-cheap, and you don't need the full functionality and processing power of a regular computer anyway for tasks like those.

i5 12600KF | Zotac RTX 4080 Gaming trinity | Team Vulcan 2x16GB DDR4 3600 | ASRock Z690M-ITX/ac | WD Black SN850x 2TB

Cooler Master NR200P v2 | ID Cooling Zoomflow 280 XT | SeaSonic Focus SGX-750 | Thermalright 2x140mm + 2x120mm aRGB

LG C2 OLED 48" 120hz | Epomaker TH80 (Gateron Yellow) | Logitech MX Master 3 | Koss Porta Pro Comm

I don't think i will get a chromebook because i like getting the full experience of windows 10.

Any AMD A-6 or Intel Pentium / i3 will be fine. just be sure to add 6gb+ of ram.

Ideally get a i5 with 8gb.

Most laptops can last 5-7 hours on moderate usage.

But are those heavier or thicker?

i5  3317U (1.70 GHz)

4 gb ddr3 ram

it says recertified, but you can always return it

wow. nice deal too bad can't add additional ram but I could live with just 4gb. Just means I can't open 23523512526523 tabs and programs at the same time.

I Saw this on newegg. Might be a little over-budget but is it good?

It looks great, although I haven't tried any of their 2 in 1's and it has a pentium which isn't that bad

I went to amazon to check the pricing out and found a i3 verson. Pricey? Yes but good? idk.

Btw I forgot to mention that i have 2 4gb ddr3 sodimms laying around from an unsuccessful upgrade.

its not bad but it also is not great.. it will be fine for what you need it for but i'm not 100% sure how well it will run minecraft. (pentium) tends to bottleneck when too many things are running.

pentium really isnt that bad but multitasking is not its strong suit.

I picked up an ASUS K200MA refurb on Newegg for $209 shipped and it's amazing. Battery life is great (I can stream HD for a few hours before having to plug it in), performance is good after swapping out the HDD for an SSD I had lying around, touchscreen is a plus (I didn't expect to like it but now I carry a stylus with me when I have it), HDMI + VGA ports are nice, USB 3.0 is a bonus, wired ethernet port is hard to find on budget laptops these days which is why I got this one, 4GB of RAM is much better than the other netbooks/laptops in it's price range, and the Celeron isn't half bad with no lag when using it under normal conditions (and reviews claim 50 FPS for Minecraft).

I looked into this and it looks really good but for me, I needed the wired ethernet port. Also, the Bay Trail Atoms do not run Minecraft well last time I checked (believed to be a software issue so it might be fixed now or in the future).
