I would call it "a tool" rather "an emulator".

Like @manikyath wrote: an emulator emulates stuff (in most cases hardware).

This script is just a tool, used to rename a "rom" - file to a batch - file.

you can easily do it by just go to your command line, type:

"ren FILE.rom FILE.bat"

and archive the same. And when you finished, just type

"ren FILE.bat FILE.rom"

and "restore" the rom file.

I just made another way to do it

And people that aren't hobbies can use this tool

I'm sorry, I don't "Just Try" unknown software from random people who post on a forum to promise me it's not a virus or malware....who refuse to directly answer questions about their program....you see, this does not build confidence or trust within a potential user...next think you know you will want me to just put in my credit card number and cvv code....or social security number...or my mother's maiden name....which is for the record.... SHENANIGANS!

No, i promise. I'll put a virustotal page.

or just keep your bat files as bat files as it should be.

this is a registry error nightmare.

I wouldnt trust it. I don't see any reason why you wanted to change the file

If you don't want the user to edit the file maybe

Oh wait let me just make a tool in Batch and put it online with some shitty norton stamp.

never trusting this

"shitty norton stamp" lol this is not a norton stamp it's a freaking file that 58 antiviruses say it's safe

some better tools have some antivirus that says it's malicious

Well first of all, that's not an emulator. It doesn't emulate anything. It just runs a file with the incorrect extension. I don't really see the purpose. If you have a file with the wrong extension then just rename it. Don't temporarily fix it and then mess it up again.

Secondly, it has next to no safety checks despite having so many lines of code in it. It must be in the same directory, it has to have the rom extension, you can't have any .bat files in the same folder, if you press a key while it is running it "will mess up"... If you want to keep working on it then that's what you should implement next.

It's nice that you are getting into scripting and you should keep going, but uploading it to forums will just raise suspicion. People don't really like downloading and running random scripts from strangers.
