So how would I just re install windows? Without needing a nother product key?

Download the installer from Microsoft.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/software-download/windows10

Run it via USB or CD and install. When it's finished, it'll automatically activate. This is of course assuming its a legit copy and activated to begin with.

EDIT: I recommend keeping a copy in case you gotta do this again in the future. And as a side note, even if you had Windows 7 or 8 you could still use your original key; Microsoft allows it to be reused as long as it's installed on only one PC at a time. Something I learned a few years back and it's stuck true to this day.

you cant reformat it without erasing, but you can copy your files and then copy them back. Installing windowstakes like 30min so just format it lol

So I can copy the windows onto a file and then just "re-install"? How would I do that without starting from scratch?

You mean the product key? well you might call tech support and see if they won't help you transfer it, but technically you could also only use it on one computer/person so you'd need to buy a new copy or get a cheap version ;) if you're switching pcs

Then you're set, cuz Windows 10 activates based on a hardware profile. So really after the reinstall Windows will automatically activate for you

So how would I just re install windows? Without needing a nother product key?
