Hi guys,

I have already written a post about this before however I wasn't so specific on what my needs were so now here is another post on my upcoming computer build,

I budget is around 200-300 € for an Intel machine rather than AMD and I already have some parts lying around like an SSD and hard drive so I can save some money on those as well.

For the mobo, I honestly don't really care what brand it is as long as it is under 90€ and has 4 RAM slots and support for SATA III.

I was really wanting to go for the Intel Pentium G3258 Anniversary edition processor because I would like to overclock it in the future, but I have also looked at the G3220 for something cheaper...

The case for me has to be very minimalistic. I quite like the Fractal Design Core 1100. What do you guys think?

The GPU is a funny story. Right now I would like to run the computer using intergrated graphics however I would like to add a decent graphics card along the road, something for around 100-150 €.

Please hit me up with suggestions, I really appreciate your help!

My recommendation would be something along the lines of this:

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/bWr3qs

Since this chip is a very good overclocked, I've chosen a Z97 atx mobo since it has 4 ram slots and enough features to suit your needs.

The z97 chipset will also help you get a very stable overclock on the pentium g3258

I also just picked a single 8GB ram stick, so you can add another 3 of those in the future (to get a total of 32gb if you wanted).

Performance wise, single channel will work just as good as dual channel.

I'm not sure if you can get the EVGA B600 psu in germany (since its not in the netherlands), but if you can please do.

Otherwise, look for a 5-600 watt 80+ equivalent.

With this psu you could add up to a GTX960 or 970 (without being bottlenecked by the cpu).

If these components are too much money in germany, you could leave the CM Hyper TX3 cooler as an upgrade for later.

You want at least four threads for most games, otherwise that Pentium will restrict you in quite a handful of games. Picked a reliable PSU to go with it.

As for picking a GPU for about 150 euros, your best bet is probably the GTX 950.

Why thank you so much for the build!

This is by far one of the best builds I have seen. My question now is do all H97 boards support OC? And do I really need an overkill PSU? I was looking more at the CX430 lol.

The CX will light your system on fire. And I´d reconsider the Pentium. More and more games flat out won´t run on a dual core, like far cry 4. There are fixes to them, but the performance isn´t usually worth it. Also heard something about being able to overclock pentiums on a B85 board if your set on it, might be worth looking into.

If you are going to overclock the pentium, and later on add a 150$ gpu (Probably gtx950 or r9 380) then you don't want to look for a cheaper psu.

You can probably get away with the EVGA B500 (same psu but 100 watts less),  but that's your choice.

Most power supplies run most efficient when they have 70 - 80% load.

I always look for something thats slightly too much, the psu will still run very efficiently , and you will have enough headroom for future upgrades.

The only game that has the dual core lock, is far cry 4.

Of course, a quad core will perform better in certain games then this pentium. But for this price point, you can't really go wrong.

LTT made a comparison with this CPU and a bunch of higher end ones.

Dragon Age Inquisition won´t run on a dual core. I don´t think Watch Dogs does either.

Hello guys

I have not been active on this post that often so I an sorry for that. Otherwise, all of you are saying that I am gonna add a strong graphics card to my build. As much as I would like this, I never use my computer to game, all I do is watch YouTube and use Office. Occasionally I will play less demanding games like Team Fortress 2 but I don't spend my whole time on it. I would like to add a GPU though as I do think that an iGPU will not be strong enough so it would also be great for you guys to recommend me a cheap graphics card in the 50-100€ range.

In other news, I hear you ask me if I am going to overclock the G3258 and the answer is an obvious yes. I know that I have to bear in mind about the CPU temperatures and lifespan so I would like to know what is the MAX I can go with an OC without damaging my CPU with an Arctic Freezer 13 cooler.

Again, thanks so much for your support, without you I won't be getting this much valuable advice.
