I need some help from some people that know what they are doing. I am trying to build my own computer for the first time and I wanted a 980 ti strix.
The parts I have are
motherboard - Asus Z87-Pro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard

cpu - Intel core i7-4790K

SSD -Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive

Internal hard drive - Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

I rather not over clock it since I am new to this and don't really understand how to...

I just wanted to know if anyone has any tips on what I should change?

If you not going to overclock get locked CPU and H/B series motherboard to save some money. You really should put a budget so we can help.

What budget, what country?

Did you already but those parts?

Do you already have a 4k display for the 980ti? because otherwise buying a 980ti is pointless

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Presumably the system will be used mostly for gaming. An i7 is not really needed for most gaming and Z87 is several years old. I would suggest going with newer technology.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

Well this includes a 4K IPS free-sync display, GPU could really be backed off to a 390, as no single GPU right now can do 4k.

However, in 6 months or so, the $600 you would have spent on that 980ti is going to get you 20-30% more performance when all the new GPUs come out, and so the new high end GPU there will be a lot more capable of doing 60fps at 4k.

and the CPU is just about the best bang for your buck CPU right now. same as the i7 you had, just with a bit lower clock speeds.
