I recently got my build together i5 4690k, Msi z97 gaming 7 mb, 8gb corsair vengence ram, cooler master hyper 212 cooler, corsair cx 600w psu

I currently do not have a gpu that is my next upgrade.

first I'm gonna start off with is, would a hdd that originally had windows vista then upgraded to 7 then to 10 cause any problems. I feel this has a lot to do with my boot times and lagging.

 2. I would like to do a mild OC I did a stress test with msi intel utility for 10hrs right out of the box with no problems. The most OC I am able to get right now is 4.3 ghz @ 1.15v, also the built in OC genie will not boot up.

3. Would having multiple "control" programs cause issues with maintaining values? It seems that changing clock speed only works in the bios and fan control is constantly reset to default values in the bios and msi control center  ie. msi control center and the msi intel utility.

I know this is alot for one thread if need be I can start another tia!

1. using a HDD isntead a SSD is the main reason for lagging and boot times. ;)

But well.. As we all know windows, it gets more and more trashed with bloat shit, temp files, etc etc. In my experience, there is only one Cure: clean install.

If you had your OS running since 5+ years, a fresh clean isntall might do wonders.

2. Your CPU can do 4.3 Ghz with 1.15 Volt? Damn, that's pretty good.

What is a built in OC genie? You OC directly in the UEFI. You do NOT use any Software, of Automatic-OC funktions at All.

Software like that, is often pretty Crappy, and buggy.

3. Which control programms? For checking Temperatures? That's not an issue at all.

But i would suggest you deinstall every MSI Software, and use your UEFI for any configurations. Works the best in my experience.

Because different softwares (like that OC-stuff) can interfere with each other.

Ok I thought a fresh install would help. And that OC is wrong I couldn't get it t9 be stable it would run for a hour or so and crash. I've got it stable now 4.2ghz@1.175v I ran two 5 hour stress tests and no crashes. I used the msi Intel extreme tuning utility for the stress test. I wondered the same about having multiple programs like that I just wasn't sure I'll Def get rid of those. Also I tried using core temp but it seemed to clash with cpu z, I am using the msi Intel for temp and the read out on the moBo and they both read very similar. The max temp I have gotten so far is 60° and that's with the fans in smart mode if I put them on 100% it floats closer to 55°. Here are some screen shots, also the ones highlighted in red should I change these? And what about the input voltage as you can see its set to default.
