What budget what country?

overclocking is unnecessary for 60hz gaming, and you're probably better off getting a Xeon 1231v3 over an unlocked i5.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Malaysia and the budget i don't particularly care since i just want to pick the price as 6600k other is fine

Well I found the Xeon 1231v3 here, seems to be available, it's basically an i7 without the iGPU, should last you a good deal longer compared to just a quad core that runs a bit faster, but if you have to choose between the i5s you're better off saving money and get a better SSD/GPU or something, even after all the trouble/money spend on overclocking you'd only end up 10-15% faster overall

it should be an i7 for the same price basically, so it'll work out better for the long run, but saving money with the 6500 would be the best option, then you only need an H110 or H170 board which further saves money, same with saving on the heatsink as well, it's not needed with the locked PSU, and that would probably save you enough to up the GPU to a 970 or 390, just make sure it has USB 3.1
