Will this work? (Mic Setup)

Filipe Campos

I've been looking for a mic setup and found this:

-> http://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B003OSPSZC?redirect=true&ref_=s9_simh_gw_p267_d0_i1

-> http://www.amazon.fr/Andoer-Amovible-R%C3%A9glable-Microphone-Titulaire/dp/B016Z9QR4W/ref=sr_1_21?ie=UTF8&qid=1456087245&sr=8-21&keywords=mic+stand

-> http://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B0002KZAKS?redirect=true&ref_=s9_simh_gw_p267_d0_i3

I don't know if the stand and cable will work properly. (I'm using amazon.fr because It's cheapest comparing product price and shipping price)

Thanks in advance

The stand will definitely work because even if the clip that comes with the stand doesn't work, you can replace it with the clip that the XM8500 comes with.

Although I haven't heard much about those cables, my initial thought is I don't think they'll work well because there's probably no preamp. Compounding this is the fact that dynamic microphones tend to be much less sensitive than condenser microphones. A lot of the use for that kind of cable seems to be for microphones for cameras/portable recorders.

I might be wrong, though. How well the cable will work depends a lot on the quality of your motherboard's A/D conversion and amplification. You would also have to check for testimonies from other forum members or YouTube videos or reviews. @sushisharkjl What's your source for saying it'll work well?

I have one of those cables (I'm not sure of the exact brand but it does appear to be the same one) that I use with a ~$50 Sennheiser dynamic mic (which I sold after getting a condenser) and it worked fairly well without a preamp. The noise is bearable, but definitely much, much worse than my current audio setup (Scarlett 2i2 + AT2035).
