What should I get with $80?

Rayve

I have $55 cash and $25 Amazon. My computer works, but the power supply is super noisy (i think something is wrong with the fan) and the cables are ugly. Should I buy a new power supply, get cable extensions, or deal with it and use the money for something else/save it?

Here you go: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-120g10650xr. Good quality PSU. It also has good looking modular cables. Of course, if your system is low/mid-end, you could buy a lower wattage PSU.

I have bad experiences with FSP power supplies .-. I would probably opt for a superflower power supply like the g2 550w (pcpartpicker says my system draws ~490 watts) instead, and its only $70

  • If you can wait I would save up a little more and get a new PSU. Maybe look at one of Seasonic's 80 plus gold OEM supplies or one of corsairs RM/RMX models if you want something slightly more pretty and quieter with the fan less mode. In fact could you tell us what power supply you use right now?
  • If ou cannot wait then I reccomend a good 240gb SSD from Samsung or crucial or a nice cooler like a hyper 212 evo from cooler master or a nhu14 from Noctua. Depends where you priorities are.
