A DVI port is typically white. Most GPU's nowadays have HDMI, Displayport and two DVI ports. One of these DVI ports is DVI-I and the other is DVI-D. The main difference, that is relevant to you now, is that DVI-I supports digital and analog while DVI-D only supports digital. Because VGA is analog, you will need a DVI-I port if you want to convert it into VGA. So take a look at your GPU's specs to see if it has DVI-I.

And as for the converter, a simple DVI to VGA converter will do. Many GPU's and I heard motherboards too include a DVI to VGA adapter, so I would recommend just taking a look in the boxes to see if you got any.

EDIT: I see your GPU has two DVI-I ports and one HDMI port, so you should be fine with getting a DVI to VGA converter :)
