Due to my other thread being buried, I will continue on this tread. Currently, my computer shuts off normally, but sometimes it the tower will not shut off forcing me to hit the switch on the power supply. When I went to bed last night the tower stayed on and I left it on to see what would happen. I awoke to my keyboard/mouse being off, but my monitor was illuminated with a black screen. I checked the event viewer and found this - The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck.  The bugcheck was: 0x0000009f (0x0000000000000003, 0xffffe001557e1710, 0xfffff8006dd7fce0, 0xffffe0015859c180). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 022016-4546-01.

My guess is CPU Cache or RAM. Try overvolting everything a small bit to find out.

The error code that you have is related to a power state failure. Try this hotfix from Microsoft: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2459268

I currently have windows 10 and the fix is for windows 7? Will it still work on 10?

The hotfix is only for Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2, and 2008 R2 SP1.

Outta luck there then

I mean, if you want to give it a shot, you can, but I have no idea what'll happen if you do. I also found this on Microsoft's forum: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-hardware/bugcheck-0x0000009f-since-cumulative-update-for/a85c8762-e55e-44c2-86a8-946c6df330a4?auth=1

Could changing the power options settings in the control panel maybe fix it?

The power options shouldn't cause this. Have you made any adjustments to the CPU at all?
