It was a case fan, fixed it a few weeks ago. Thanks though

For the last week or so my custom pc (built about four months ago) has been making this weird grinding noise when booting when it's been off for multiple hours. After a minute the sound stops and everything turns normal again. I think it's a faulty fan, because my HDD is working properly without any issues. What is it and should I worry? Video below. I'm using the standard fans of the S340. Full specs in sig.

Sounds like either a faulty fan, or something caught in one of the fans to me... check your computer thoroughly to make sure there are no cable ties or soemthing catching in the fan.

Please quote my post, or put @paddy-stone if you want me to respond to you.

That is almost certainly a fan. Either a fan is hitting something like a wire or is pressed up against the chassis, or is about to fail. Unplug each fan in turn to see which is the culprit, and if none of them seem to be, then it may be your PSU or CPU fan. From the look of how that CPU fan is spinning, I'd lean towards it.

Put your finger on a fan and see if the noise stops.

It's clearly a fan. Once you know what's making the noise you can fix it either by clearing what's making the sounds (like a cable hitting it) , removing the fan or dust cleaning it.

Or it could be the case vibrating which you will need to do work to fix.

It's not a race to the bottom.

That sounds like your PSU fan bearing failed.
