Internet switches

hi i have some questions about the switches 

1. does it slow down my internet AKA if i plug it in to my main modem and then i plug in my pc in the extra switch*modem* will i lose internet preformence

2. is it worth it its around 10 euros here in sweden and you get 4 switches its a good brand Netgear GS105 since i need it in my own room its a complicated situation

3. is there annything special i should look for when i choose a switch*modem*? or is it whatever 

thanks for helping and sorry for the retarded english and for asking stupid questions

and if anny questions about my bandwith i will have around 50 down and 5 up when i get fiber if that info matters

A switch *can* slow down performance IF multiple items are constantly accessing resources over the switch. Be sure to find a 1 gigabit switch too, as a switch can slowdown a network if not at a high enough speed.

Netgear GS105 seems perfect it call handle it thanks for the info lad

For normal internet usage you won't effect much if you have 1GPS download link ... stuff like streaming movies/TV should be fine.

The only performance different might in gaming (Increase ping) but daily web brower usage/youtube you won't see much difference apart from a bit longer ping if alot of user is hitting the router.

tho if i have 50 down it should not be to much of an problem ?
