Hello, this is my first time posting to this board group and this is my first build. Before I start Ill list out my components.

CPU: AMD FX 6300 (Overclocked to 4.4)

GPU: AMD R9 390

Memory: 2x4G Corsair Vengeance

Mobo: Asus M5A97 Le r2.0

Harddrive: 2Tb seagat

Cooling: Corsair H100i

Everything is stable, using Prime95, MSI Afterburner, Cpuid Hwmonitor, Furmark, 3dMark. The system seems to test out well, and pushing itself. but when I play any game, COD, League of legends or Dying Light; no mater what graphic setting I put the games to run in, after a while the GPU goes form being used 80-100% and drops down 0% and will hold there from any where from 5-10mins.  The Temp of the GPU runs to about 50C, but not much higher, and the fan stays at about 20%. I think its thermo-throttling. but im not sure, its causing huge lag spikes like action with in game, but my Internet is still running fine.   I hope Ive explained myself well enough, If you have any questions on my problem, plz post and ill respond asap. Thank you.

Drivers all up to date? And is the GPU overclocked at all?

Not often but I have seen gpu overclocks that are stable in benchmarks become unstable in game.

How long have you had this GPU for? At 50C, a GPU can't be thermal throttling.

From what you're describing, I'm leaning towards this not being a thermal throttle problem (GPU's tend not to do that until around 80C), but it could be a CPU problem. Try dropping back to stock speeds and see if that makes any difference; If you've got XMP enabled for your memory, also disable that and see if it makes a difference. It may not make a difference, but while you're in the BIOS, a BIOS update might also help (the FX-6300 in particular had support added in rev 1006, so if you're running an earlier BIOS, that may be part of the problem).

Missing from your spec list is the power supply; Do you know the model?

Thank you all for your replies. Ill answer your questions.

Unidentical- Drivers are all up to date. Also, the GPU is not overclocked

Tomoki- Iv had the GPU for about a week, my wife just bought it for me. I replaced it, because my old GPU died on me due to one of my children haha

Runefox- Thank you for your suggestion. I have the most up to date bios. I then reset my CPU back to stock and it is sitting at 3.8ghz. I played a game and it seemed to be a lot smoother. Ill test it for much longer, and get back to you guys later. Also, my PSU is a Corsair CX750M

Once again, thank you all. You have been a massive help.
