Upgrading My Laptop's Battery

Hello! First Post xD

I have currently have an MSI PE60 this configuration.

I'm a student, and I do some light gaming and a bunch of video editing so when I got this, it was perfect for me(my professors think its not a gaming laptop ). However after using it a few days I noticed the battery is pretty junk. I'd like to bounce some ideas off you guys on how to prolong the battery life. I've already switched it to power saver when I'm at class, but I was wondering if there was something else to mitigate it dying before the end of the day.

So that brings me to my question(s).

  • Can I upgrade the battery in any way i.e. ditch the unused optical drive?
  • Can I get a compatible external power source, as I have a pretty spacious backpack and don't mind the extra weight.
  • Or is there some third option I'm unaware of?

There are some battery power banks that support the typical power sockets, although I am unsure if they would even output enough power to charge and could be quite pricey.  You'll have to check the spec of your charging cable and find something that supports the amount of wattage http://www.amazon.com/ChargeTech-Portable-Universal-MacBooks-Motorola/dp/B00MVDRPR0  This one supports 65W but that might not be enough.  My ROG G551JW charger says it needs 95 V and this charging bank supports 110-240V

Perhaps this is the kind of battery you are looking for http://www.amazon.com/Intocircuit-PC26000-Capacity-26000mAh-Smartphones/dp/B00BB5VQCE/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top?ie=UTF8

Linus did a review of it here:

Thanks for your respones! I believe I will settle on a battery bank, unless someone links me to a larger internal battery. I have no issues voiding that warranty.
