I have question about my chieftec aps-750cb PSU.

I mentioned in some post on forum that I'm using it (was asking if it will be good enough for R9 390, but got answer already).

However, some user replied that I should change my PSU right away because any PSU that Chieftec makes, is just pure crap.

I had LC 6600 V2.2 before ... some low budget 30€ PSU and decided to change it when I bought i7 4790, because someone told me that low budget PSU might harm my PC, so I didn't want to put my 350€ worth CPU at risk :D

So I would like to ask what's wrong with Chieftec PSUs? Aside of 20 months warranty ... I mean usually you see 12/24/36 month warranty, but that 20 just got me confused. But I don't mind about that. Just hoping that it won't fry my system :)

Also while I'm making this topic ... in case of PSU failure, does company refund me for PSU and all components that it destroyed?

Hmmmm. That PSU is not that bad, I had a Chieftec PSU for like 6 years, no issues. Changed it because I wanted a better one, but it never failed me

It's not too good but it would suffice for a 390 provided it's not too old, I still recommend getting XFX, Seasonic or EVGA B2/G2/GS/GQ unit

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT 16GB GDDR6 Motherboard: MSI PRESTIGE X570 CREATION
AIO: Corsair H150i Pro RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB 32GB 3600MHz DDR4 Case: Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic PSU: Corsair RM850x White

Could you replace that PSU too? Because it's fucking horrible (any PSU Cheiftec makes is)

But it'll never use more than 400W.

I hope person who wrote me that yesterday will see this post here and reply a bit more specific why he doesn't like Chieftec :)

It is not a good brand, but it's not as horrible as he stated as I've used their PSU with an overclocked GTX 970 and it worked flawlessly, it was a CFT-650-14CS

Well I paid 100€ for it and it was probbably best for that price in my country.

It can't compare with super flower PSU brand, but I think it will still do it's job and keep my components safe :)

The Chieftec brand isn't well known and doesn't appear to do great when going down the OEM checklist I use. Would avoid for sure. And in the event the PSU fails it's actually quite unlikely to take your components with it unless it catches fire. In the event that happens you always get a refund or a new one sent, and a fire might be grounds to ask for more in return (value of your case, mobo, etc).

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.
