My monitor is a HP 2311gt and I can use my computer with the old video card no probs BUT whenever I install the new card my Monitor just don't detect it and I only see a blank screen. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT CAN I DO. Please help :(

are you able to update the BIOS?

check your mobos latest BIOS

if not i can say HP is stupid to lock the BIOS so that you cant run aftermarket GPUs

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

I had this problem with a motherboard from Dell prebuilt I tried to stuff a 390x onto. I was pretty sure it had something to do with a BIOS issue with the board, and it being an older (Sandy Bridge) prebuilt part, was never going to get updated. Luckily I had another machine that I could throw it into and the card worked perfectly.

Reset CMOS, and if it doesn't work, test the GPU on another system.

if(worksOnOtherSystem) { replaceMotherboard(Craigslist, used); }

else { returnMaterialAuthorization(XFX); }

So I've already RMA the video card and they check it and said it was fine and I got it back yesterday ALSO I've tried to get into the BIOS setup but since I Updated my machine to win10 I'm unable to go the the BIOS set up screen, I just don't know how.

I've already try stuff like taking the battery out for a few seconds and take in and out the ram sticks but no dice. So anyone, any idea on how to get to BIOS setup menu???
