Will 12gbps SATA come out anytime soon?

Hi. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I'm very inexperienced with computers... Trying to learn though :). 

Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone was aware of 12gbps (or just higher than 6gbps) SATA will come out anytime soon. 
I have noticed that solid state drives have already pushed to the max potential for SATA, and I saw some SSDs for PCI slots with ridiculously fast read/write speeds. 

 

I'm almost sure that this technology will come out.... Eventually... How long has SATA 6gbps been out for?

Not likely. Maybe in 2015. That's my guess.

Interface changes aren't that simple to implement.

Barely any of our drives can achieve such speed now. No drive is bottlenecked at all from the SATA 3 interface currently implemented

SATA 6Gbps will be replaced by SATA Express 20Gbps.  The specification has already been finalized and will probably see adoption immediately in the next generation chipsets, or the generation after.

 

It is worth noting though that current SSDs do not max out the SATA 6Gbps interface.  They approach 6Gbps only in sequential operations, not for random I/O which is the majority of operations on the computer.
