Hey all,

So I have a house in the UK and another house out in France/Switzerland (on the boarder) and really like watching Netflix and BBC Iplayer for example but when I'm out in my second house I can't use these services. I know that you can pay for a VPN so you can do this but I have a old laptop lying around my home and was wondering whether or not I could convert this into a VPN Server so I can watch BBC IPlayer and Netflix at my other house. So can I do this and how do I do this?

Thanks.

You would be using the VPN more as a Proxy server. You would need to check the upload speed of the location you are wanting to use as a VPN/Proxy. If it is too slow, streaming video wouldn't be possible. If it has enough bandwidth and speed, you could route the traffic through.

Did everyone see that? Because I will not be doing it again.
