I recently watched Linus' video on Vessel with him cramming Yvonne's rig (as well as his) into a closet and then using a single optical Thunderbolt cable to more or less allow the peripherals to operate. I was wondering if it was possible to do something similar with a single CAT 5e cable. I'm kinda considering doing something similar with a lower-power rig (cuz it's a little loud). So... Yeah.

 

Ideally, I would be using a gigabit ethernet card in said rig for it, as well as some kind of a DVI cable. So... Yeah. Also keep in mind that if this is even possible, it will be done on the cheap, because I'm not dumping much more than 50 bucks on this experiment with a rig I've spent a total of $26 on.

You can't run a display on Ethernet, not enough bandwidth.

You can do HDMI over Ethernet

nvm ethernet has enough bandwidth for 1080, misjudged how much bandwidth you need
