Hi!

So I've ordered rgb leds from ebay, http://www.ebay.com/itm/371410525566?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&var=640495832322&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT to be exact, and i recieved them today. I pluged them in with an rgb controller that i also bought from ebay, it worked flawlesly! So i peel of the protective "tape" and stick them to my case, plug them in and they don't light up. They do on some parts, but are very dim, but if i press on them they light up a bit more. Any help?

Feel them to make sure there are not hot areas or that the controller is not heating up. Hot spots would indicate a short. I have had the ends short on the case before because the solder points where they join strips poke through the adhesive, or the end bit makes its way onto metal it shouldnt.

so if there is a short, the leds are useless?

Not really, the short would need to be found and removed. Quadruple check your connections.
