I plan on upgrading my PC a bit soon but I don't know what to get. I want it to be around $200. You can see my current build on my profile. These are the options I'm thinking of:

1. Skylake

I could get these:

Spoiler

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i3-6100 3.7GHz Dual-Core Processor  ($123.90 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: MSI Z170A PC MATE ATX LGA1151 Motherboard  ($99.10 @ Amazon)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2400 Memory  ($42.88 @ OutletPC)
Total: $265.88

but it hangs over budget.

2. SSD + Lighting (or other)

Since I don't have an SSD, I might as well get one. I was thinking of a Samsung 850 EVO 250GB. I also have extra money to spend, so I might get an NZXT HUE+. I still have money left after that but I'm not sure what to spend it on (maybe a game? :P)

3. CPU upgrade

Since my current CPU (G3258) has a hard time playing most games with its two cores, I might as well upgrade to something like a 4690k.

It's not 2013 anymore, you need a quad-core. You really cant do a $200 gaming PC. It's very hard. You wont be able to pull it off. Sorry dude.

I'm UPGRADING my existing PC, not building a new one.

I would go for something like a 4460. I use one, it's great for gaming and most workflows.

An SSD would be a good pick as well, so I would save up a little bit more and get both.

It's not worth going skylake and getting an ehh cpu, since you'll have the same problem in 2 years or so.
