Replace my girlfriends laptop

My girlfriends laptop (of approximately 6 years) has finally stopped working. The laptop was a Dell Studio 1558 (I'll post the specs below).

 

Dell Studio 1558 Specs:

• CPU: Intel Core i3 330M 2.13Ghz
• RAM: 3GB 1333Mhz DDR3
• GPU: 512MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 545v
• HDD: 320GB SATA (5400RPM)
• Display: 15.6" (Resolution: 1366x768)

So I am now on the hunt for a suitable replacement for this laptop, but with so many different recommendations and reviews I thought I'd look for some suggestions for replacements.

 

 

The replacement will be used for normal word processing, updating websites and social media, storing photos and music and light gaming (The Sims, Civ5 etc).

 

I'm looking to meet the following specs:

• CPU: Intel i5
• HDD: 1TB (Hybrid SSHD drive)
• Display resolution: 1920x1080
• DVD-RW
• Decent build quality
• Budget: £300 - £600 (but can tweak for the right device).

 

While I know that pretty much anything on the market now should be vastly superior to a 6 year old laptop, I am drowning in a sea of possibilities with my current front runner being the Lenovo B51-80.
