I have just build my own PC, but the GPU is making a really annoying and worrysome noise, which I belief is 'coil' noise. Is it something I should be worried about? Do I need to return it? will it go away? I really need to know since this build was very expensive!

The GPU is an MSI Twin Frozr GeForce GTX 780, incase you need to know.

Help will be appciated! :D

It's normal to have Coil Whine, but it mostly comes from blower fans. You can RMA and they'll replace it if the warranty covers coil whine.

Can you record the noise? If it is coil whine, it may go away with some time. However, if it does not go away, there is nothing to worry about. Coil whine does not harm your hardware in any way. It's just a noise emitted by the said hardware.

Coil whine is normal and there is nothing you can do about it unfortunately.

I tried recording the noise, but it did not pick it (for some reason).

Coil whine is a very high pitched noise, not everyone hear it as much and some people are more affected by it than others. Perhaps this is why you have trouble recording it?

Look on Youtube for 'reviews' of the sound it's making, Linus made a good video using the reference 7970. If it's your problem, there's nothing you can do unfortunetly. :(

Its fine and it would not cause any problems with your computer.  You could possibly contact MSI support to see if you can rma it if you don't like the noise. If you are lucky enough, it will go away after a period of time.
