Windows 7 Installation

So i am trying to install windows 7 and dual boot with windows 10 but i am having problems installing Windows 7 Pro, I have burnt the ISO to my USB and it will not allow me to boot from it(worked fine with Ubuntu). I am trying to install it by using the setup.exe and i am getting an error.

If you created a Linux boot USB, simply putting W7 on it won't work.

I used Rufus to put the ISO on the USB and i cannot boot into the usb. When i did it for Ubuntu, which was a few months back, it was fine and allowed me to boot into it.

It is recognized. When i click on it to boot into it, the screen flashes, and thats it.

As for the setup.exe, I've personally never done that, but maybe you need to configure a partition before entering the installer?

I have tried with a partition with 250gb of space and tried with that space as un-allocated. Same error. Thanks for tryign.

Is your computer UEFI ready?

If so, is CSM (Compatibility Support Module) enabled or disabled?

I have UEFI instead of BIOS... I dont recall seeing any CSM options...

Ok. I THINK the problem is that Windows 10 is UEFI ready, but not Windows 7. So the way things are setup on your drive, and disk partition table is different. Windows 7 can't really handle it.

 

Again, I THINK this is the problem. The ultimate test, is to try Windows 8. If you have it, you can try (the idea is to not install Windows 8, but see if you don't have the error message).
