So I'm doing my very first PC build and after 4 hours of building (including breaks and such) i though i was finally finished, till i found out it is not working... today I've been going at it for another 4 hours while looking up what to do and still nothing, i could still have errors in cables though... (PS, i could not find any good build videos so it was mainly just what parts there were on the board). Now i am lost. Can Anyone PLEASE Help.

PS. i did use an antistatic wrist strap connected to a turned off, plugged in PSU however, i did not pre-post test the motherboard before installing all the common cents and putting it in the case.

i am not the best when it comes to software and certain switches... what/ where is a CMOS?

A picture could help a great deal.

I don't know what you have done so it is hard to say what could be wrong.

You could undo all the cables and remove the non-essential components, then re wire everything.  Removing the 1TB hard drive and the GTX 970 eliminates any issues those particular parts might have and allows you a fully functional PC to test with.

If you want to find the CMOS jumper, find it in the motherboard manual.

It is not a button, it is a jumper on two pins (on a 3-pin connector).  I don't think you need to clear the CMOS as you have not even posted into the bios yet.

Did you plug the 8pin power connector to the top corner of the motherboard?
Is the RAM properly seated?
Did you plug the two 6 pin power connector to the graphic card?
Did you correctly plug your video cable (HDMI/DVI/DP) to the back of the graphic card itself and not the motherboard?

Is your monitor set to the right display input?

If you remove the graphic card and plug the Video Cable to the back of the motherboard itself, does it POST ? (boot)

So far it sounds like a dead motherboard, but troubleshoot it a bit first.

Thank You.

Question: would this harm any hardware or anything in general?
