When I play certain games, my computer will just randomly shut off after like half an hour. I don't think it's overheating, because I have SpeedFan open in another monitor while it happens, and my temps are something like 55C CPU and 45C GPU. Recently, I went into Event Viewer, and the error message I get when this happens is Kernel-Power Event ID 41, Task Category 63. When it shuts down, the screen usually cuts out first, then the audio turns into a really rapid brbrbrbbrbrbrbrbrbrbrbbrbrbrbrbrbrbbrbrbrbrbrb noise. The fans all still spin, except my GPU fans. The LED on my case stays on as well. When this happens, I have to use the switch on the back of my PSU to turn it off all the way.

It happens in Witcher 2, Rocket League, Red Faction: Guerrilla, and a few others I can't remember right now, but does not happen in Skyrim, Fallout 4, or anything else I play.

All parts I have are new and I haven't touched clock speeds

AMD A10 7700K with stock cooler

AsRock A55M-HD+

8 Gigs of I think Team Elite DDR3 1600Mhz (1 stick)

Gigabyte AMD R9 270X factory overclocked

Western Digital Caviar Green 1TB 5400RPM HDD

Faspeed 120GB SSD (have pretty much nothing on it, just like 2 games that aren't relevant here)

EVGA Supernova 750W 80+Bronze Semi-Modular PSU

NZXT S340 with stock fans

How I see it is that it's caused by one or multiple of the following 3 things:

A lack of power.

A lack of ram (which most of the times comes with an error message from windows itself)

Or a bad oc.

Becuase your psu is fine, you have plenty of ram and your gpu's fans stop spinnings it might be the oc. It should be fine because it is factory overclocked but you might want to try underclocking the card. This won't hurt it at all and if it does solve the issue then you can continue to oc it from the stable point up to the highest stable oc you can get.

That's all I have, I hope it's usefull.

np bro. Keep me updated on the proces! My pc crashes a lot too because I am tinkering with it a lot :P. It mostly crashes because I only have 4gb of ram in my pc, combined with a nooby overclock.

Lowered the Core clock speed from 1100Mhz to 1085, and ram from 1400 to 1375. I'm updating drivers as we speak. I'll tell you if it works in a bit.

Unfortunately, it didn't work. Now all I have is a voided warranty.

Mmm... I suggest you put back the clocks to their original numbers and leave it at that. It must be something with the power, so check all your power cables from your psu to your components and make sure they're all connected. Then try another power cable (from the wall to your pc) it might be faulty. If all fails you can always try a brand new psu, or test the one you have right now in another machine.

Yeah, I'll try that. Can't report back today, as I'll be gone visiting an art museum, but tomorrow I'll report back.
