Just an interesting video I just watched on Youtube. This just reminds me of a lot of the people here on LTT and I thought it was suitable. Posting in Off Topic as to not spam the mobile forum

I do not aprove of Apple's tactics of trying to sue everything they can due to completely retarded patents that should have never been accepted in the first place. I am indeed a fan of technology and progress, but technological progress is not something that describes Apple, it's actually quite the opposite, and therefore I will not give them a single cent of my money. To me, whatever they create is completely irrelevant until they change their bullshit tactics.

The whole I'm going to sue you over this has to stop and I think it's hindering the progression of mobile technology. I also feel like giving you some sort of award for being the only person on the forum (that I have seen) to give a valid reason as to why they would never buy Apple.

It sounds to me like the majority of the video is bashing Apple. Yes it is stupid to go "oh X copied Y" but the vast majority of that comes from Apple and their 1 BILLION dollar lawsuit against Samsung devices just because they are black rectangles with colorful square icons (yes, Apple actually has a design patent for those things).

 

Personally, Apple is one of the few companies I am actually against as a whole (and not just disliking a specific product). They lie to their customers (several times), they hold back progress with their lawsuits and general patent trolling, the users are often very smug and ill informed, and so on.

Welcome to big business. Also, I'd argue that the mobile market would be no where near where it is today if not for Apple.

I am not trying to dispute your claims about apple and their practices, but I would like to know the lies apple has told to its customers. Just interested about how big these lies where .

They specifically informed their staff to pretend like the FlashBack Trojan didn't exist.

They said that the iPhone 5 was the world's thinnest phone, even though the Oppo Finder was (and is) thinner, as well as the Droid RAZR being thinner.

They used to say their iMacs had a desktop grade GPU (they did not have the M after the model number, like 4870M). They didn't have this for many years but they have since about a year back started adding it.

They labeled the CPU architecture on some of the Mac Pros wrongly (they said it was Westmere when it was actually Nehalem, the difference being 45nm vs 32nm transistors as well as 2 extra cores).
