I built a computer about a week ago, (specs: I7 6700k, 16gb DDR4, Asus Maximus 8 hero, evga 750 g2, and hyper 212 evo. It has been working fine for the most part (for some reason every now and then the screen would go black for a few seconds and then come back) but last night i had to turn it off and nothing was responding (Cnt-alt-Dlt, mouse, keyboard, everything wasn't working) so i held the power button on the case until it turned off. Now, when i turn it on, the fans turn on, but nothing displays, and the rgb light in the middle of the mobo is flashing red. On top of this it sounds like the fans are spinning faster then normal. Any help is MUCH appreciated.

Thanks!

P.S. One of my friends suggested removing the ram (i don't have a dedicated GPU... yet... hoping to get a 980TI cause having overkill thinks is fun :D) and try to turn on the pc while there was only a cpu and cpu cooler in the system, when i did that, the fans still all started to spin up and the q code was 53.

The thing is, is that the computer was working before it stopped. So it cant be these issues. Plus i have already tried them.

You can't remove the RAM and have the system boot. You can swap the RAM to different channels, or run one stick of RAM at a time.

I would start by testing one stick in each DIMM slot, then swapping to the other.

I have just done this and the monitor was the same, no matter with dim was in witch slot, the q code was always 02, with no output to the monitor. Starting to freak out...

I had a similar problem a few weeks ago and the problem was with the RAM(It was a bit old although), try borrowing a few sticks of RAM and see if it works.

Also, have you overclocked your CPU? If yes, have you done a stress test to make sure it was stable?

First and foremost, try different video cables and video ports on your PC and monitor.

No go?

Then take everything out of the case, strip everything down and rebuild it again out side the case with only the minimal amount of parts needed to post.

I'd even take out the CPU and check the motherboard for any bent or missing pins.

Try using various combinations of a single sticks of RAM plugged into the various RAM slots.

If that still doesn't work then try a different power supply.

Should the thing still not work after all of that you're likely looking at a faulty/damaged CPU or motherboard.
