I've said this before and I'll say it again, going for gaming or anything for that matter, in my opinion, on FX CPUs is not the best of ideas. You'll get a better experience out of an i5, even a low-end i5 like the 4460.

meanwhile :

fx 4300 = 100$ + 990fx board = 100-250$ ( asus  crosshair  V formula Z) + cooler =100$ , total cost = 300-450$

i5 4440=190$+b85 board = 50$ +stock cooler = 0$ , total cost = 240$

just as a test : xeon e3 1231v3 = 250$( same as a locked i7 ), b85 board =50$ + hyper 212 ( for silence ) = 320$

So you actually spend LESS by going with a a xeon ( locked i7 ) . Going with a 4790k and z97 ramps the price up to 415$

AMD Ryzen R7 1700 (3.8ghz) w/ NH-D14, EVGA RTX 2080 XC (stock), 4*4GB DDR4 3000MT/s RAM, Gigabyte AB350-Gaming-3 MB, CX750M PSU, 1.5TB SDD + 7TB HDD, Phanteks enthoo pro case

even if it is , the i5 is still cheaper , doesn't use 200w of power and won't make be outputting that heat

Hi

i am in the process of build a gaming computer and i have alredy picked a graphics card and r9 380 4g ram and for my cpu i have 150 euro budget and i was thinking in buying an AMD fx 8320E 3.2Ghz but in reviews people say AMD cpu suck compare to intel so should i save some more money and buy a intel cpu or go with amd.

The games that i will play will probably be mostly mmorpg or moba and  some GTA V.

Keyozen

first thing your topic sounds like AMD Vs Intel

second coming to the main point :

1) gaming:

   i) not in low budget : i5 - (personal choice is 6th gen) : is best for gaming it also ensure future proofing and you will not find any bottle necking.

ii) tight and low budget : Fx 6300 : still consider as good cpu at that price range but it doesn't ensure future proofing and may create bottle neck with

high end component so better to choose mid range product with this cpu.

2) Video editing and rendering

  i) i7 best option

ii) Fx 8 cores for those who are in very low budget

Both are good and reputed company Intel gives better per core performance than AMD on the other hand AMD gives better price to performance.

Which CPU you are going to buy depend on your type of use and budget.

Don't need to buy i7 or Fx 8 core, extra core's will not help you to increase gaming performance. Because most of the games are optimized to use up-to 4 core some games are still using only 2 cores.i7 or fx 8 core processor is use for video editing and rendering.Because this work can utilize all cores of CPU so for this kind of work this processor are best.
