Hey guys, I am on the search for the most demanding game that isnt just poorly optimized. Like crysis 3 is apparently a bit hard to run so many people use it for benchmarks, battlefield 4 as well, The Witcher 3. So I am on the hunt for a game that isnt just poorly made like AC Unity and Arma 3 that wont get more than 30 fps no matter what pc you have.

I want to find a game that is actually hard for my pc to run, its my first build and i really like it, i wouldnt ever regret building this pc.

CPU: FX-8350

GPU: R9 390 Sapphire Nitro OC 8GB Backplate Edition

RAM: 8GB (2x4GB) (Dual Channel) Gskill Ripjaw x

MOBO: Gigabyte 970A-DS3P (I know, not the best mobo I coulda gotten a better one but hey it does the job theres nothing wrong with my pc) (I am not overclocking)

PSU: cx750m Corsair

CASE: CM HAF 912

CPU COOLER: CM Hyper 212 EVO

Damn, I was going to suggest minecraft with shaders. Umm... Try star wars battlefront. Oh wait, it isnt badly optimized, its just badly programmed. uhhh

try

umm

Unengine heaven. Wait. Not a game.

umm

Rocket league. While not terribly difficult to run, it is difficult to push high framerates at high resolutions

"that isnt just poorly made like AC Unity and Arma 3"

Arma 3 isnt poorly made, the engine is as optimized as it can possebly be, and my PC gets around 60 + FPS on single player, you are probably extending the draw distance to max and complaining about it lagging

Also arma 3 is CPU bound in most cases, so you probably need a top of the line CPU in order to pull off your mad graphic settings

Lol minecraft shaders, Approved! I tried it and tbh its quite hard to run the best shaders packs, but I managed to get around 30-50 fps it varies a lot because i played it on different servers. Single player I got around 50 steady. Also varies with different texture packs and shaders packs but you get the idea. unengine heaven, I have it but not installed yet I was too lazy to actually install it, i used 3dmark to benchmark. Did better than most PCs.

ARK is not optimized yet but when it comes out of early access it should still be hard to run.

I have ark, maxed out i get around 30, but i can lower like clouds and boost up about 10 fps xD the resolution scaling makes my fps drop like a rock if its maxed out, but i usually put it around 8/10 of the way and its fine, sometimes it makes the input from my mouse kinda late and its weird, no other game does it but ark when the res scale is high, it makes my inputs reply late, like clicking W will walk forward about a second late and its annoying so i lower the res scaling. but keep it on 1920x1080

The new TombRaider is demanding.

And i managed to bring Skyrim down to 50 frames in 1440p with countless mods. Weather, Textures, drawdistance..everything you can think of is modded to no end. On top a ton of gameplay and crafting mods.

Hairworks in Witcher 3 costs me around 15-20 frames with my Card the last time i played it. Not worth it.

I noticed many GPU benchmarks are done on tomb raider, yet to test one, i will definitely test it when i have money to buy it! and i couldnt ever figure out skyrim mods even with tutorials on youtube, they just didnt work and i followed it exactly.

and thats on your 980ti? I see your specs in your signature if thats your current specs. dropping 20 frames from that is crazy! they should work on making it impact less. less physics maybe? like too many collisions with each piece of hair?

Ya, its hard to get behind it the first time. But if you have all the important tools ENB´s ect. and know how the manager ect. works, its pure awesomeness. Its unbelievable how many mods exist for skyrim. You can mod absolutly everything. Graphics, Crafting, Skills, NPC´s, Mounts, Followers..and so on. There is not a single thing in Skyrim you cant mod the hell out of it ^^.

And TombRaider looks amazing.

Thats why i turned it off. Its very bad optimized. Laras Hair in TR runs way better. almost no fps loss.

P.S. You can reduce AA on Geralts Hair to safe FPS, but than it looks horrible.

One does not simply stop modding skyrim...121 mods and counting...my framerate dips below 30 in dense forests but those plants and that dense grass just look too good :D

That's bs, if you have a strong enough PC even Unity will run pretty good (very demanding due to GI), but you'll need atleast a 980 sli setup to push 60fps with the highest settings. Yeah, the release was overshadowed by a lot of bugs and the lack of innovation, but it's a good looking game with great interiors.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is quite taxing, plus The Division and Quantum Break soon.

144Hz goodness

Yes yes. I´ve spend dozens of hours with searching for mods alone. Too bad many Weather / Lightning overhauls dont work together.
