I just made a new build yesterday. I'm trying to download the drivers but it isn't reading the USB. Everything is plugged in correctly. Also when I plug in my headphones and mic it isn't picking it up.

Which version of Windows are you running? Have you made sure your front panel USBs are properly connected? Have you tried using the rear USB ports?

What do you mean by trying to install the drivers but it's not reading the USB? Is it possible to use LAN and download straight from that build?

Primary Build: i7-4790 · 16GB Hynix DDR3-1600 · Sapphire Tri-X R9 390x · NZXT S340 · Win10 Pro · Seagate Barracuda 1TB T_T

dat cable managment doe ;-;

anyway i think the usb ports need drivers

idk where from....or why

I find that odd because usually Windows 7 and up is pretty good with installing all basic drivers for onboard components.

I'll try looking for USB port drivers, and cable management in a micro ATX case is rather difficult.

What board are you using? I can help you find them if you need. Or you can go to the website for manufacturer of your board to download it.

While there are several potential causes, one that I have ran into is where the default drivers from the GPU (from the install disk) will take over your audio drivers and result in no sound.  The best way I have found to avoid this is to download the audio drivers directly from NVIDIA and not use the drivers on the disk.  Try looking at your device manager and audio setting to see what they are set at.

Stupid question, do I have to have speakers to hear audio? Also will this fix Windows not picking up my headphones and mic?

Yes you will need speakers to hear audio within Windows. The small speaker built into your motherboard (if your board has one) is only used for beep codes during system post or system errors. If your system is not picking up your headphones and mic and they are plugged in the correct ports, then most likely it's a missing driver and installing the audio drivers from the link I've provided should fix that issue.

I'm getting a error saying my computer doesn't meet the requirements to install the VGA drivers.

Are you sure you've selected the correct Windows version on the download page?

Does the pro version of 8.1 effect it?

The "Pro" version of 8.1 doesn't effect it. However, the architecture does. You cannot install a 64-bit version of a driver on a 32-bit (x86) operating system. Make sure you got the correct version for your architecture. Go to the Control Panel, then System to see which architecture of Windows you have.
