Question: Do you feel you need to update your BIOS? If so, why?

I do. Not sure why I just feel that because the motherboard is around 2 or more years old there will be updates the increase the performance or cooling of the motherboard. At least that is what I think happens, not sure what actually happens

If everything is working correctly right now there's a higher chance that something would not work, as there's nothing to fix.

Generally you only want to update the BIOS if you are experiencing problems, or a newer BIOS revision specifically states improved OC functionality, product support, etc. etc.

Good thing is that you're using an ASUS board with BIOS Flashback support. 0 chance of bricking the board as long as you follow the directions @NTF5252 linked above.

The BIOS almost never decreases the temperatures of the board unless there's a specific bug in the previous revision. As far as performance, it can, but make sure you're reading the release notes for the revisions to see if it actually does anything for you.
