So I will be changing my case out soon (mine is too boring for my taste and I would LOVE better cable management)

Are there any common problems/things I should look out for when switching my parts to a new case?

Other than static and breaking cables by pulling to hard on things that are still attached. No. I would get the antistatic bag for your MOBO out of the case and put all components you can on it so you wont have to worry about static discharge when changing cases. Thats what i did not long ago.

Ask me how I know. :P

HOW DO YOU KNOW?!

Also DONT PUT THINGS ON THE OUTSIDE OF A ANTI STATIC BAG. they work by being a thin layer of metallic film on the OUTSIDE to create a Faraday Cage thing

If I use words like probably or most likely, it is because I dislike certainty. These words can probably be omitted and the sentence read as a certainty.

lol. I may have built a few systems and wound up in the middle of a windows install holding the io shield wondering why it was in my hand and not in the case. ;)

A trick on those anti static bags, if you split the seam of them you can lay them out on your desk with a static free space on the cheap!

Smart, I probably wouldn't have done that :P

thx

That works well as a anti static mat i think
