I agree Why would you buy two 980's when you can get 980 ti. BTW what are you getting this pc for?

What case?

A 2x8GB memory kit would leave room for an upgrade. Actually 2x4GB would likely be more than enough.

Its a Aerocool Strike X GT.  I already bought it so I have that covered.  I plan on running games with a lot of mods so that why I have 16GB

They are just a huge waste of money though. You might as well get a Titan X. Even though many of the people will tell you that a 980Ti is about the same except for the number of cuda cores. Even though you are a fps hoard you dont need this extreme of a build for gaming. I could maybe see a build like this for video editing and stuff but the 980s are just not needed.

Found a great deal on a 4k IPS 5ms FreeSync monitor, so I went 390x crossfire instead of 980 Ti SLI. Saved some money too.

don't get 4x4gb ram, theres no quad channel on Skylake.

Added a 980ti, swapped the PSU, 1000w is overkill (I know check my sig lol) and buy windows from G2A etc

With the money saved there and the 1 less 980 I was able to add in the new RoG Swift IPS Gsync monitor

How about this... IPS 23" with the IPS ROG Swift (144hz gsync 1440) a 500GB M.2 drive, a 980ti, a 750W EVGA P2, (it's enough for sli 980 Ti's with overclocks) and an extra TB of storage..
