Cheapish NAS

RuLeZ

Hi guys, I am thinking about a NAS solution for me here, I will use the NAS for personal data (photos, videos) and for CAD works (which are not big), I just need the NAS for storage, just it.

My idea is this one :http://www.amazon.de/Cloud-Mirror-Pers%C3%B6nlicher-Cloud-Speicher-Doppellaufwerk/dp/B00J97A49W/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1455032055&sr=8-2&keywords=wd+nas (6TB version)

And this one for backup of the first one: http://www.amazon.de/Western-Digital-Pers%C3%B6nlicher-Sicherung-Syncronisations/dp/B00FOKN7B0/ref=pd_sim_147_5?ie=UTF8&dpID=31fzy4%2B0B1L&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&refRID=1SZM0727PF5MP3700627 (3TB version)

And for really important data I will use double backup at Google Drive.

What do you think about it? I can spend more, but I really just need storage, so I dont see the point

Thanks xD

I don't think it would be worth it if it was just for you and you only want that much storage. Why not add the drives into your current system or but a usb 3.0 external bay like the one below.

Thanks, but I want something really safe, thats why I want to go with 2 separate devices. But maybe inside the system and external usb 3.0 would be a nice ideia.

Yes that would be a good idea to do both. Just at the capacity you want there is no need for a NAS unless you expect other to regularly need to connect to it and even at that why not just set up some shares. It seems popular to have a NAS yet the cost is too much for most cases for what you get out of it. I would look into going with the internal and USB 3.0 options together instead.

In my mind I can see this working.

In other words, yes, go for it :)

HOWEVER... since you're already in that price range you COULD build a budget PC and make it way more expandable and configure it to your own liking.
