GTX 460

Go to solution Solved by grayperview,

So, all by all, 460 for 66 EUR: yes or not?

EDIT: and in what shop  can I find that free game deal with a new AMD 7xxx series card?

No....you will get a 560ti for a little more. a 460 is dead money.

So I found a MSI GTX 460 1GB DDR5 online for 66 euro, is that a good deal for what its worth?

I'm currently running a highly overclocked 460 and it handles most games beautifully. Go for it!

You're like the only one helping here, thank you!

Bad deal honestly, old tech is not worth it. GPUs are really getting old quickly. Especially if it's used.

Just get a new GPU.

Where do you buy the 7770 so that you get a free game? Normally I buy my parts @ www.azerty.nl or www.cooblue.be but because I live in Belgium, I don't know if that offer still counts...

That was a great card, but it's really starting to show its age.  I'd try to go with one of the 7700 series card as suggested above.

Not a bad deal at all as I mean we are not talking big money here. However the HD 7770 is probably a better deal for just a bit more.

It's the same speed as the HD 7770 . Age has nothing to do with it as it does the same thing as the new cards and has all the same features as the 7770.

As for the OP, i'd pass on the 460, old card, consumes power, heat and you can probably just add a bit more money and get something better

All cards consume power and create heat LOL. The GTX 460 is actualy a very cool and power efficient GPU.

Hello new G.Freeman, thanks for pointing out the obvious, but tell me how all the cards produce the same amount of heat, I mean the only difference between the 480 and 680 is performance, they consume same power and produce heat. Read some more about Fermi

I'd disagree.  It would make more sense to get a new 7770 since they are available with 2GB's and the 7790 models exceed the performance.  Would give him more longevity.  The 7700 series would also be easier to power and cool.

Since he didn't clarify it would be reasonably to assume that the 460 might be used.  I wouldn't pay to get a used card when there are better models for around a similar price.

HD 7770 dose not have the graphics core power to even use more than 1GB Vram heck even the HD 7850 1GB cannot use more than on1 gig of Vram or rather it performs the same as the 2GB version indicating that the extra gig is all but wasted on that card. 460 is not a hard card to power and cool by any stretch though the HD 7770 does use less power. I agree and did state that OP should just spring an extra 10 bucks for the HD 7770 brand new with free game though.
