Hello,

I'm planning to buy myself a new pc using some "old" parts and some new.

I'm keeping (old parts):

- PSU (Corsair RX750)

- SSD (Samsung 850 EVO 512GB)

- HDD (Wd Blue 1TB)

- Case (Fractal Design Define R5 Windowed)

- CPU Cooler (Hyper 212 Evo) [Will upgrade in the future if required]

- GPU (Sapphire R9 390 8 GB) [Will buy in a couple of days, in the time of this build, I will have it already]

Main parts I will be buying new are:

- CPU (Intel i7 6700K) [Will overclock]

- Motherboard Z170

- Ram (16GB atleast)

I am posting here since I'm not sure which Motherboard and Ram to buy, I'm thinking about this two motherboards:

- ASUS Z170-Pro

- ASUS Z170 Pro Gaming

For Ram I'm not sure yet, but I'm going to buy 16GB (2x 8GB) of as fast ram as I can find (atleast 2400Mhz) to leave myself room for future upgrades.

I will be using this PC for everything (Gaming, Web, Programming, Rendering, ...), I have already got monitors(Benq XL2411T + one 19 inch [Will be replaced with another 24 inch Full HD]). The monitors will be running simultaneously. Keyboard and mouse will remain from the old build. I also already have my OS so I will not be needing a new one. I'm upgrading because my current setup is getting too slow for my current needs (Phenom II 965 BE Overclocked to 3.7Ghz, 8GB DDR3, Radeon HD 5850). Im also from Europe, and I will be buying most of the items for €€€.

I'm open to any recommendations, as I would like to have very stable overclock (Previous build had stability issues).

Thanks!

neither, go with the ASUS Z170A, unless you step up to a Z170 deluxe, you don't get anything more anyway.

It appears to be cheaper, although it depends where you are buying it from and is a solid board and has more features than the other 2.

For Ram just get a 2133mhz/2400mhz 16gb kit from Kingston, Gskill, Corsair, Teamgroup, Adata... anyone who has been in the game long enough basically will do at this level.

I don't think you will need 32GB, but just in case get a 2x8gb kit, its going to be very long before you require 64gb of Ram so just get the 2x8gb kit and you are set.
