Gaming NAS

On my main rig, I have pretty limited storage, x2 240GB Sandisk Extreme Pros in RAID 0. And I'm booting off of a Samsung 256GB 950 PRO. I have a 2012 Alienware that I bought in, well 2012, which is now functioning as a NAS/Server. Would playing games off of x4 500GB 850 Evos in RAID 5 be possible? Even from a different computer? So I wouldn't have to reinstall games as often?

Yes you can play games over the network easily, and depending on the game some times iscsi is your best option as the os thinks its a internal hard drive. Steam works fine with cifs/smb though. I would suggest using hdds instead of ssd for a nas as over gig they make no difference, as there is a ram cache on the server that will speed up reads and writes over the network.

Your network will be the most likely be the bottle neck. Majority of games should run fine
