MacBook Backlighting Not As Bright

Go to solution Solved by linuxfan66,

When did this start?

how did you compare?

Are you willing to get the screen replaced....i saw a customer the other day with  a similarly old macbook. Unless you want used or unofficial parts the repairs are not worth the cost.

Hi.

My 2010 MacBook has had its screen displaying dimmer tham it should be.

I am really peeved off about this, I have reset the PRAM and the SMC.

Also the display profiles did nothing.

Thanks, Alpha.

It started last night. I used a program which altered my screen resolution and made the screen black. I reset the PRAM and this has happened ever since then.

My eyes are pretty good when it comes to comparing light from screens.

If I can avoid it, I want to. I have just bought a tablet and don't have any spare money to put into laptop repairs.

EDIT: I am actually rethinking this. As I said, I bought a new tablet and the LCD is so bright on that.

Thanks for your help but I'm going to close this thread.
