GTX 960 or R9 380

Go to solution Solved by SteveGrabowski0,

You have the CPU to run the 380 to its full potential, so there is no doubt, the 380 is far better for you. If you had an i3 I'd say to get the 960, but with an i5 the DX11 driver overhead that kills AMD performance on low end CPUs isn't a concern. The 380 is significantly better now, and AMD cards usually age a lot better than Nvidia on top of that. In Techpowerup's test suite of ~20 games the 380 crushes the 960 by 17% at 1080p.

today my HD7850 died, and i'm trying to choose a new GPU for my setup, i have U$200 to spend (but it would be nice if i spend less than U$200). i've been searching for this on the last couple hours and i cant decide between R9 380 (link) and GTX 960 (link).

i also wanna know if i would run it without any problem with a Corsair CX600 (CP-9020048-WW), on my rig i have a i5 4670, 1x8gb, asrock h87 pro4, 1tb western digital hd.

380 is way more powerful than a 960...

But first, let's talk about parallel universes.
