So I'm in the process of getting ready to sell my laptop to help fund a new GPU for my main rig and I went to the reset setting in windows 10 to wipe all of the personal information and factory reset the machine. It reached 51% and came up with an error ( not entirely sure what it said just something like error while resetting this PC). Then after re-booting it would show the windows logo but no loading wheel, it would do this for about 10 seconds and reboot and keep doing this infinitely.

I don't have any sort of OS disks or USB keys and even if I did the product key sticker didn't come with the laptop which is weird but whatever. I'd rather not have to buy another windows product key but at this moment I'm at a loss and have no clue on how to fix this issue.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm sure the activation is saved on a data base. You can download windows 10 media creator onto your desktop and put it on a usb and use that to carry out a full install. Just skip the product key part and allow it to activate

The laptop doesn't have a label somewhere(on the bottom, maybe under the battery in the battery bay) that has the Windows key for the system?

was windows 10 on the laptop before the issue happened?

if so, then you dont need any keys

get a 4GB+ USB drive, download windows media creation tool from microsoft (on another PC) and make a windows 10 USB

when it asks you for a product key say you dont have one

then use the USB to clean install on the laptop (make sure you format the HDD first, then choose where to install windows)

it should activate itself automatically and you will have a clean windows installation

I'm not sure about that, when I boot there is just the boot screen. No option to get into the BIOS so I don't think I can change the boot priority.

No it's nowhere on the machine. I always thought it had to be since it was on every other laptop I have encountered.

Yeah it was, I upgraded it from windows 8.1. I'll try and pick up a flash drive tomorrow. Hopefully they aren't too much.

you don't need it

long as it was already activated

just do a clean install with a usb key..with the media tool
