Windows Update is currently telling me that I require a restart to Upgrade to Windows 10 Pro but I've not had this stuck here for around a month and no matter how many restarts I do, It never updates. Is there anyway to force this update?

For me - I'm on Insider 11102 - I open settings, go to 'Update and Security' and it's right there - a scheduled restart to upgrade to build 14257 for 3:30 AM, and a button to restart now.

idk

If I hit that restart button, I'll boot straight up and the screenshot I posted above will show the exact same thing still. That's the November 2015 update that hasn't installed for me for some reason. I'll try hit the button again.

I don't believe near vanilla windows 7 has any spyware built into the OS.

Well is there any real need to use windows 10? The quickest solution to anything in windows is generally just reinstalling windows anyways.

There was an update recently that added Win10-esque spyware.

Considering everything other than one update works fine is there any real reason not to use Windows 10 other than because you seem to have some sort of issue with it?

Select "Schedule a restart" and then it will give you a choice of when. Ignore it and just press the restart button within the settings menu there. It should automatically restart and update.

Well, it spys on you which is normally reason enough, otherwise it's probably going to have minor issues for a while

True - Windows 7 has it's purposes. It's rock solid, has very good game compatibility compared to 8.1/10, and has really good driver support due to it's age, as well as having Media Center for what use it serves.  Honestly, if I still had my tinfoil hat on I'd be running a fresh 7 SP1 with updates disabled.

idk
