Just after doing some googling I found this post

"Qcode 99 is "Super IO Initialization" and IO meaning anything connected to the board by any interface is not initializing.
If you have just built the system, then it is saying a device is not connected properly or there is a lack of power to a device causing the IO error.

First check all cables and components are seated flush and level and aligned in parallel with Pci-e slots and your DIMMs seated correctly.

Should the condition continue, you will have to Bench test outside the case and reapply your TIM after checking for bent pins. Test with minimal configuration, till you post successfully or identify the failing component."

Found it here https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?53977-Asus-Maximus-VII-Hero-Issues-Q-Code-99-with-quot-no-signal-quot-showing-on-monitor

Hopefully that can help, just try reseat all the power connectors (8 pin, 24 pin, gpu ones, hdd/ssd power connectors) and ram/gpu. Hopefully that will fix it

If you have the option to get a high refresh rate monitor, do it.

ive tried two sets of ram, two mobos, two psus (ive got a lot of extra computer junk laying around) two boot drives, two monitors, and with and without graphics card, but the 99 error is not a error code for cpu, but its the only thing i can think of.

holy crap i figured it out. apparently, the stock cooler i was using was putting  uneven pressure on one side of my cpu, causing it not to post. i switched it out with a 212 evo and it works like a dream.

That's very odd haha, at least it's fixed at no cost :P just a little frustration

what cpu cooler are you using? and did you do anything before it not posting? like at all that could've caused it?? Also you'd be better off posting your own thread and referencing this one
