My First Build

Blyre

Hey guys, so i finally have plans for my first build, and since its my first i have a lot of trouble picking part for it,

I want to build mainly a gamer pc but i have also plans for some montages in the future, but i want to focuse more on the gamer aspect of the pc, I want to be able to play any game in the future at least at some good settings, because i've been stuck with a pc that can't run fallout, gtaV, shadow of mordor, etc.

The pc parts that i was thinking about where:

-The case-Cooler master CM690 series III

-Motherboard- either MSI H97 PC MATE or Z97 Pro Gamer

-CPU- Intel Core i5-4690k processor

-RAM-16Gb of Kingston HyperX Black DDR3

-Grafics Card- either 1 Asus Geforce GTX970 directcu II OC Stric 4 Gb Gddr5 or 2 of them on SLI

-Power suply- Coolermaster G650M

-Cpu Cooling-either Cooler Master Hyper 103 or Cooler Master nepton 240M

-Storage-128gb of any ssd for windows 10 and 1 Tb WD Caviar Blue

So what do you guys recomend, im not suere what motherboard to use, i think maybe the Z97 is the better choice, im also not sure about the grafics card should i get 1 or 2 of them or maybe getting only one GTX980 or 980Ti, also not sure about the cpu cooling to use im not sure if its ok for just a simple air cooling or shoul i use the water cooling one.

I have a budget bewtween 1300€-1600€

Your tips and advice are really apreciated

Thank you

ok don't get that PSU for a start and don't go SLI from an initial plan. SLI is something you do straight away with top cards or upgrade to at a later date, go with one strong card, aka 980ti

ill have a look at a build for 1600 euros

This is a good first build and I agree with not going the sli route, defiantly get the single most expensive GPU you can comfortably afford.

Also if you think you might want to overclock in the future (Remember you will most likely have the same MB for some time), then defiantly invest in a z series motherboard. I'm not sure but it probably comes with other functionality that might come in handy down the road. But if the h series motherboard suits you well than you might want to get a non-k sku cpu and spend the extra loot on your GPU.

Overall good choices though.

Some things worth mentioning, for ram i went with a 16gb set since it would be cheaper than upgrading later.

Storage is subjective to needs, raise/lower that to what you think you'd want.

As for video card i recommend waiting til Nvidia releases it's pascal gpus (i believe that's what they're called), that would probably make the Maxwell, 900 series somewhat cheaper.

Didn't have any listings for that case you mentioned, the one i chose looks similar

Also, inb4 choosing a locked cpu with a Z motherboard, I choose a Z motherboard since it would be more futureproof, them able to go that way if they decide they want to a cpu in the future that overclocks

That's a decent build for the money, however I wouldn't recommend the 970 over the 390 and that's coming from me lol (check sig)

So after some consideration i think i improved it form my first version but now im undecided between the motherboards and the video cards. Here are the specs:http://de.pcpartpicker.com/p/ZvFkFT

CPU: Intel Core i5-6600K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Nepton 240M 76.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler

Motherboard: undecided between Asus Z170-A or MSI Z170A Gaming M5
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory
Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

VideoCard: undecided between Gigabyte GTX 980Ti G1 Gaming or Asus strix GTX 980Ti Oc edition
Case: Cooler Master 690 III ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply: Corsair RM 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

Gigabyte video card look good with the asus motherboard and Msi motherboard looks good with the asus video card and i cant tell wich one is better.

I have also a question if i wanted to add a second monitor (not a good one, just one for me to look at voice chats and google stuff while im playing) could i do it?

Thanks
